Pupil power!

Pupil power!

Lissa in Year 6 has been very busy knitting poppies, a new skill she learnt from her mother in lockdown. She has managed to make 80 to date and has sold all of them and raised an amazing £250 for the annual Poppy Appeal.
"Each one takes 30 minutes to make," says Lissa. "I was busy knitting a scarf at first and my Mum suggested knitting poppies and found a pattern for them. These were the simplest ones to do. I'm now going to finish my scarf."
Regular paper poppies have been on sale alongside Lissa's at school this week.
Next Wednesday, 11 November, the school will be running a virtual Remembrance Service from 9.30-10am. Poems, talks and music will fill the hall, including a talk by Hampshire grandparent Commodore Mike Deeks CSC RAN Retired Agent General for Western Australia, before the Last Post bugle call and two-minute silence.
Invitations to the Service will be sent to parents via Google Meet.
