On Wednesday 29th January two science quiz teams from The Hampshire School took part in an exciting competition at the iMAX cinema in the Science Museum. Both teams very much enjoyed the experience and came away having learned some new interesting facts about the world around them. They achieved high scores and though not placed first they were certainly winners in the eyes of Dr Edmonds and Mr Worth who took them; for the positive attitudes that they showed and the manner in which they were ambassadors for the school. In the words of the pupils themselves:
"The Quiz club experience was enriching in many ways. Firstly, it taught me much more about the subject of Science and broadened my knowledge of the subject immensely. It also encouraged teamwork and made us think cooperatively in many ways and also made us trust our teammates. The competition helped me apply all the knowledge I had learned in lessons and allowed me to use it in a competitive situation. This was a great experience and I hope to do it again." - Nirvaan (Y6)
"The whole thing was marvellous! All throughout the quiz, excitement was bursting inside me! What made it even better was the fact that we were sitting in front of the biggest screen in London!
The sound of beeping buzzers and quiet chatter about the answers swarmed around the room. Hard questions were asked that made my brain hurt in a fun way! Our team's strategy was to eliminate answers until we got down to two or one of them. We all seemed nervous about the fact that we were against many other schools. The quiz took place in the amazing Science Museum of London! It was a great experience that I will never forget it." - Ariana (Y6)
