Talents on show at the Bellevue South Music Festival

Pupils at the Hampshire School were delighted to participate in the Bellevue South Music Festival held at Dorking Halls on 11 March.

After months of preparation, pupils aged 9 to 15 years from 8 Bellevue Schools in South East and West England came together to showcase their talents through a range of performances, including singing, solo instrumental performances and massed choral works. Proud parents and staff were amazed by the impressive talents on display. 

CEO and Founder of Bellevue, Mark Malley, and Group Education Director, Steven Wade, were both present to witness the pupil’s dedication and hard work come to fruition. 

Mark said: “Music plays an important part in the lives of all Bellevue schools, and the music festival is a celebration of the achievements of the pupils. It represents a wonderful opportunity to bring together the unique talents of pupils whilst enabling them to showcase their abilities on stage together. I was very impressed by the high level of performances, and could not be more proud of the pupils and staff who put this musical evening together.” 

The event was directed by Shelagh Lee, Performing Arts Leader at Sherborne House School in Hampshire. Steven said: “The programme, put together under the supervision of Mrs Lee in collaboration with Heads of Music across the group, reflects the diversity and quality of the many opportunities open to children in our schools: highlights of school productions, solos, ensembles and choirs were all present. The skill and passion with which they performed was genuinely humbling, and reflected the many hours of practice by the children and the support of dedicated staff.”
