The last week of term was full of purposeful learning and festive activities that have brought the school community together in a celebration of our core values. The Winter Festival was a huge success with the children visiting Santa, patting the reindeer, enjoying the array of craft activities and singing spontaneously in the hall while helping themselves to an amazing afternoon tea prepared by the catering team. The Pre-School production, Whoops-a-Daisy Angel, was a triumph and set the bar high for subsequent festive events – we are so proud of the children’s efforts. There was something very comforting to see them performing with such energy and skill as they led us through the nativity and sang beautifully to a very appreciated audience of parents. It was also a treat to hear the choir sing on the steps of the school while the community enjoyed the mulled wine and mince pies. In the Awards assembly, I was delighted to celebrate the children’s efforts and to hand certificates to those receiving Core Value Certificates or a Head’s Award. The staff and pupils looked suitably festive in their bright sweaters in preparation for Christmas lunch where they wore their hand-made festive hats and enjoyed the special meal. The Carol Service at St Luke’s Church marked the end of term with the singing of carols, readings, a nativity play and contributions from every year group which culminated in the congregation singing Silent Night - and treasured moment for us all.
I thank the parents who have generously given of their time to attend and help with school events, for their thoughtful gifts, and to all the community I express my gratitude for your continued support.
I wish everyone peace and happiness during this holiday season!
