Last week in assembly, the 2019-2020 Hampshire School Chelsea Development Groups were finalised. The six development groups are one aspect of our expansive pupil voice programme, involving fifty pupils this year, that focuses on the nature of collaboration leading to positive change.
Each group consists of eight pupils in total (one pupil from Year 1-8) in order that older pupils can mentor younger pupils during enjoyable and regular meetings with a select member of staff. The different development groups are: Eco, Community, Mind Body and Soul, Innovative Technology, Houses and Food.
Each development group will share, develop and finalise ideas that then produce an ‘outcome’ driven towards improving a particular aspect of school life. Last year, outcomes included: Wellbeing Week, Red Nose Day and Charity Fun Run at Battersea Park, Community Day, Innovative Technology Day, Green Day, Half Measures Sugar Reduction Initiative, Daily Food Feedback Initiative What outcomes will occur this year? We’ll wait and see what the young minds manage!
