On Wednesday Year 2 livened up the music room for their Rhythm Day, a cross-curricular event helping them explore the links between music and literacy. They had lots of fun trying out different rhythms using the Kodály music notation method to help them perform a famous poem, chosen by Ms Yardley Rees: ‘Please Mrs Butler’ by Allan Ahlberg.
At the end of the lesson the children had a grand finale rendition, complete with instrumental percussion and the odd ukelele! They really enjoyed pretending to be the complaining child and the tired teacher.
