Year 8 pupils have their poems selected to play on BBC Radio Kent

Year 8 pupils have their poems selected to play on BBC Radio Kent

We are so proud of Maxi and Assem in Year 8, who's poems were selected to play on BBC Radio Kent as part of the BBC Upload programme with presenter Leo Ulph. They were written as part of their online drama lessons during the lockdown this term.

Maxi, an avid reader, dedicates his poem, ‘The Old Book’ “to all children who, during lockdown, may have found a new source of interest in rediscovering what may seem like mere objects in their home, neglected for their true worth.” You can listen to Maxi's poem at the time of 3:11:30 here on the BBC Radio Kent website.

Assem is a keen performer and came up with the idea for his poem ‘Chocolate’ whilst eating a bar of Galaxy in lockdown. BBC presenter Leo Ulph described his poem as “encapsulating pretty much everything about the lockdown situation!” You can also listen to Assem's poem from 3:27:22 here on the BBC Radio Kent website.
