We are full of festive cheer at The Hampshire School Chelsea!
We have successfully come to the end of a very busy and productive term and we are full of festive cheer at The Hampshire School Chelsea. Both school foyers and the Library are looking extra special with the magnificent Christmas trees expertly chosen by our Year 8 pupils and decorated by the exceptionally talented Parents’ Association Committee.
This year, the festive season was launched with a trickle of festive snapshots of life at school in the form of a social media Advent Calendar – look out for the Facebook and Instagram feeds. The fabulous Christmas Fayre saw Santa settled in his grotto while his reindeer took a well-earned rest in the garden alongside Percy, the barn owl. The Peggy Porschen gingerbread biscuit making workshop, the wax hands, carols around the piano, the amazing stalls, Santa Sumo, arts and crafts, games, Bake Off- worthy children’s cake competition and café were loved by all and it was a joy to see the intense excitement on the faces of the children as they visited the many and varied activities.
As ever, the Parents Association Committee were extraordinarily generous in giving their time to this much loved event and with something for everyone on offer, it is no surprise that parents, families and friends took the opportunity to join us. The Christmas lunch was a huge success with the staff and the children entering into the spirit of the occasion and proudly sporting their Christmas hats and sweaters. It is a tradition for the senior leadership team to serve the children at this lunch and a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the hard work of the catering staff. The Early Years Christmas production was a sheer delight to witness; there was much confidence, skill and merriment from all onstage, and from the appreciative audience.
The Carol Service at St Luke’s Church, with its restorative community singing, readings and enchanting performances from all the children at The Hampshire School Chelsea, was a wonderful way to bring the term to a close.
Season’s Greetings to everyone!
