The children’s well-being is at the heart of our educational provision and the highlights from Mental Health week are shared in this newsletter, together with a celebration of recent accomplishments. This year’s national theme ‘Growing Together’ was underpinned by a focus on children’s emotional well-being in light of the challenges experienced nationally during the pandemic. The school explored through: yoga, debating and problem-solving initiatives, mindfulness activities and further training in e-safety, how we can help and support one another in and out of school. The pupil’s enthusiasm to drive Development Group initiatives and participate in House, Quiz Club and Bellevue competitions is matched by the staff’s pro-activeness to deliver an exciting array of initiatives as restrictions are lifted. We are excited that the full range of educational trips, productions, community events and social occasions return. We are also delighted to share that the benefits of delivering on our three priority targets are now evident, not only in the pupils’ improved confidence in articulating their thoughts in class, their debating and public speaking skills, their increased participation in sport, and also in their track record of academic progress and success in external assessments. With many of our pupils working at least two years ahead of national expectations, with our prep school pupils accessing GCSE higher topics, we are set to celebrate a breadth of success to senior schools when all offers have been confirmed later this month. The addition of career talks is also enhancing the senior pupils’ understanding of their preparation for the workplace and I am immensely grateful to Ms Orlando, Mr Waring and Ms Safdar for offering their time to share their knowledge and experience.
