Visit

We encourage parents to join one of our Open Mornings which run regularly throughout the year or arrange an individual tour. The visit will allow parents to see first-hand what makes the school such a truly special place. Children are very welcome to attend the visit with parents.

Registration

Parents are welcome to register their child at any time, but it is advisable to have registered by 30 September 2023 for the September 2024 intake. Upon completion of the registration form and receipt of the £120 registration fee our Admissions Registrar will be in touch to schedule in a taster day/play date.

Assessment

Once you have registered your child we will invite them in for a Taster Day (Year 1-6)
or a Play Date (Pre-Nursery, Nursery, Reception).

Play Date

Children applying for Pre-Nursery to Year 1, will be invited for a Play Date with our Early Years department. They will spend 30 minutes in the classroom with other children, playing and taking part in group activities. We will observe their social and communication skills and physical development whilst they are in our informal, friendly, nurturing learning environment.

Taster Day

Children applying for a place in Year 2 and above, will be invited to the Pre-Preparatory and Preparatory School for the day. They will spend the day with a class, taking part in normal lessons, to give them a taste of life as a pupil at The Hampshire School. During the day they will have an English and Mathematics assessment.

Offer

Following your child’s Play Date or Taster Day you will meet with the Head, who will be able to confirm whether we are able to offer a place. We will then send a formal offer letter together with our Terms and Conditions, which you will need to sign and agree to in order to accept a place. At this stage, we will ask you to pay a deposit to secure your child’s place.

Induction

In the term prior to your child starting at The Hampshire School Chelsea, you will receive the Starter Pack and an invitation to Induction Day.
