Children can learn up to two instruments at any one time on top of their class music lessons. Pupils can take instrumental lessons for: Piano, Violin, Guitar, Recorder and Drums from Year 1, Flute and Voice from Year 2, and Trumpet or Cello from Year 3.
Your child must have an instrument at home to take up one-to-one lessons (the school does not own any instruments for lending). For beginners, an allowance of up to five lessons is made to purchase or hire an instrument, in which time the relevant teacher will be able to recommend suitable options. Lessons last 30 minutes, and regular practice every day is essential to ensure progress.
