In early February, pupils in Years Five to Eight participated in a virtual training session with Noisy Classroom. They enjoyed playing a range of games before testing their teamwork and rhetorical skills in a real debate.
The session provided pupils with an excellent opportunity to collaborate with, and get to know, their peers in other year groups as they prepared for the debate. It certainly did get noisy! Pupils learned strategies for successful debating, such as making ‘shopping lists’ of points to make, before selecting the most pertinent to transform into a succinct argument.
We were extremely proud of the way in which pupils engaged with the session and demonstrated our core values of resilience and respect – towards our host and each other. It was wonderful to see them participating with such enthusiasm and creativity, and to hear the purposeful noise they generated throughout!
