Our Curriculum
Our curriculum is designed with care to welcome children into our early years, then into our pre-prep leading to prep for entry to senior schools at 11+ and 13+.
We are focused on the interaction between our teaching and the child’s learning. To that end we review and develop our overall curriculum on a regular basis and the children’s progress is continuously evaluated to ensure that their learning flourishes. Entry to The Hampshire School, Chelsea is non-selective and we work to achieve the best progress for each child by adapting our teaching to challenge or to give support as needed.
We have a well established Enrichment Programme offering specialist teaching to those children who require additional learning support as well as those who are independent learners and excel academically.
We combine the best of traditional approaches with modern teaching methods to ensure lessons are dynamic and stimulating. Our classrooms are happy places with a real sense of purpose and enthusiasm

Educational care
As a 3-13 Prep school, we serve a pivotal point in a child’s development, between pre-school and senior school. We carefully track pupils' academic and personal progress, extra-curricular activities and other interests so that we are able to support parents in the selection of the right senior school for their child. This includes:
- all pupils being base lined assessed upon entry so that realistic targets can be set and specific mileposts implemented to monitor progress
- our comprehensive knowledge of all central London day schools as well as links with boarding schools across the country
- an experienced staff with the knowledge, understanding and compassion to ensure that each child receives the right education and makes the move to the right school for them
- a broad range of extra-curricular and special interest school events to broaden every child's interests and experiences.
The majority of boys leave at 13 but most girls leave at 11, to a wide range of London Day schools. Favourites with the girls are More House Francis Holland and Godolphin & Latymer. Favourites schools for boys are Latymer Upper, Westminster, Dulwich, Emmanuel, Colet Court and City of London.
