My role involves leading the Early Years team; supporting the excellent provision that is delivered to all the children as well as providing a positive and supportive link for the parents. As well as ensuring a strong link is kept between the two schools, guaranteeing consistency and cohesiveness. I also develop and maintain the standards to ensure our children achieve their personal best and prepare them well for life in the wider community.

The best part of your job:

The best part of my job is being part of the excellent team and Early Years community. Greeting the children and families each morning and hearing all their news is daily highlight. I love celebrating the children’s individual achievements, informally, as well as at our weekly Learning Hero assembly. Finally, one of the best parts of my job is watching children grow, develop and succeed throughout their schooling career.

Anything else we should know:

Having been a part of The Hampshire School for 8 years, I am passionate about the level and quality of education we provide.

I am also a Mum myself, so appreciate the strong link that is needed between home and school. In my spare time, I enjoy spending quality time with my family, preferably outdoors.

What does your role involve?

My role is to make sure that myself and my team provides a consistently stimulating, interactive and reflective learning environment, including the ‘SECRET to learning’ for all children. I ensure that we provide exciting, relevant and achievable learning experiences that challenge and empower children and adults to ask questions, discover, take risks, and begin to take ownership of their education. For this I need to ensure that my team is able to plan and implement our thematic, integrated curriculum that engages all learners. My role is also to raise parent awareness and understanding of their child’s learning by leading coffee mornings and making myself available for any queries.

The best part of your job:

Working in Year I, I am constantly amazed by the knowledge and understanding that children bring to the classroom. The rapid progression and witnessing that ‘lightbulb’ moment is a fantastic feeling. I particularly enjoy working in this school, which encourages us to constantly reflect and learn though others. As a reflective teacher I am constantly thriving to adapt to circumstances and therefore provide the best that I can in an ever evolving world.

Anything else we should know:

Originally from Devon in South West England, I grew up on a farm in a small village called Luton. I moved to London five years ago and have been happily teaching at The Hampshire School since then.

What does your role involve?

Head of Phase 2: This involves pastoral care of children and teachers in Years 4 and 5, liaising with members of the management team to ensure progression and consistency through the phases. I work with my team to ensure lessons and teaching are exciting and effective.

Year 4 Form Teacher: To ensure the safety and well-being of all of the children in my class, ensuring they achieve the best they can academically, socially and emotionally. It also involves the planning and delivering of exciting lessons in English, mathematics, topic, PSHE and RE.

The best part of your job:

The best part of my job is working with children who are enthusiastic about their learning and eager to do well. I enjoy seeing children’s confidence grow and their personalities developing. Listening to children reflecting on their learning makes me very proud.

Anything else we should know:

I am interested in languages, travel and culture, I lived and taught in South Africa and South America. I have been teaching at The Hampshire School for 5 years.

I love cheering up the children when they come to me ill. I am lucky enough that as a focal point I get to know each child individually.

I have a passion for exercise and fitness and have recently been focusing on running. I ran my first marathon, the Virgin London Marathon 2015, this year and loved it! I am now keen to continue entering marathons elsewhere, New York would be the dream! I’m also planning to study to be a Personal Trainer in the near future.

Teaching the children and seeing everything that they have learnt and how they have matured by the end of the year, knowing I have played a part and made a difference.

I love reading, believing that as long as I have a good book with me I never feel lonely or bored! I also enjoy ballet, going to the cinema and travelling to exotic places.

In my role as Leader of Lower School Literacy I organize and lead the Read Write Inc. and Big Write Schemes, creating talking points for the whole school and holding coffee mornings for parents.

As a Year 1 form teacher my job is to make sure every child in my class is safe and thrives academically, socially and emotionally.

As the School Council Leader I hold bi-weekly meetings with the elected school councilors to discuss ways in which we can make the school a better place.

The best part of your job:

The best part of my job is seeing so many children develop into happy and confident human beings, proud of what they have achieved and excited about what the future holds for them.

Anything else we should know:

I am a very keen sports woman and in my spare time I love to play football and cricket in particular. I play for a London Women’s football team throughout the winter and I play club cricket for Bath in the summer. I am also an avid Manchester United fan and enjoy watching them play regularly.

In my role as Leader of RE I teach RE from years 5 to 7 and prepare children for the 13+ examinations. My role ensures understanding and open mindedness across the 6 main religions and we use philosophy to tackle questions that affect our lives.

As a Year 4 form tutor my job is to make sure every child in my class is safe and thrives academically, socially and emotionally.

The best part of my job is making strong relationships with children and seeing those ‘lightbulb’ moments! It’s exciting to understand and see personalities develop. To see all children succeed is a huge drive in my job.

I am a very keen swimmer and dancer and love to take part creative workshops. I love to travel and still have a list of places I MUST visit before I am 40!

What does your role involve?

My role involves teaching French to pupils from year 4 to year 8, planning interesting lessons that enable pupils to interact, ask questions, answer to their peers and regularly play so as to improve their language skill in the following areas: speaking, listening, reading and writing. My role also involves differentiating my teaching so as to adjust and adapt it to the needs of each individual pupil, for example a French speaker in contrast to a beginner.

The best part of your job:

When I get to know the pupils, their strength and weaknesses so as to offer them tailored challenges. I also love having the children use what they have learnt to make their own sentence as simple as they may be or write a little text on their own.

I am a native French speaker, fluent in Spanish and have a basic knowledge of Portuguese I am also a qualified play worker having experience working in play centers and summer camps.

I am the co-author of Two textbooks that have been published by Enastron publications, Greece. The first one is Texts in Ancient Greek (2010) and the second is Xenophon’s Hellenica (2012.)

In my role as a social skills teacher I deliver a social skills programme to increase self-esteem to children who find difficulties to express their ideas and opinions on front of others.

Finally, as a learning support assistant I support children with Special Needs. I compile children’s IEP and provide appropriate resources to facilitate they access to the curriculum, and to promote their independency.

The best part of my job is when I hear my pupils singing French songs or speaking French outside the classroom context. It is very rewarding to notice the progress they make.

I am a native French speaker who grew up in Canada. I have been living in London for 14 years. I love nature, camping and gardening. I am very creative and I bring that creativity into my lessons.

My role as an Enrichment Teacher requires me to collaborate with the teachers in order to plan, present lesson plans and in some cases create assessments to ensure that the children's needs are being met. We try to ensure that this occurs by scaffolding the children's learning and by differentiating their work, this way both set of children (on support/ without support) have their needs met.

The best part of your job:

The best part of my job is to the see the children break down the barriers to their learning and as a result acquire skills and knowledge that will enable them to reach their full potential. By breaking down these barriers the children do not only acquire the skills and knowledge required for their academic development but they do also become more independent, their self-esteem grows and they become more involved on their learning.

Anything else we should know:

I enjoy attending dance classes even though I am not a great dancer and my favourite sport is Thai Boxing.

What does your role involve?

My role involved planning and delivering Read Write Inc program. Planning alongside Reception team and tailoring activities to meet children’s needs, and supporting continual assessment. Taking lead in organising activity camp and stay and play arrangements afterschool. 

The best part of your job:

I gain satisfaction in helping others. I specifically enjoy seeing the children’s faces when they have grasped new knowledge that I have taught them. 

Anything else we should know:

I have a strong interest in The Early Years education. I have recently attended an Early Years conference exploring the similarities and differences in early years practice around the world in Iceland. Prior to joining The Early Years of The Hampshire School I taught at an international school in Italy. I enjoy travel and have been fortunate to see most of Europe. I enjoy photography and during my trips have built up a strong portfolio and on occasions I have used this at work.  I have recently returned from a trip to South America.
