Recently, 16 of our very own Year Eight children along with Mr Brennan the Headmaster, Miss Kim the Deputy Head and Miss Jyoti the Head of Maths, attended the London Stock Exchange.
The oldest children in the school were invited to visit the Stock Exchange with the winner of the GEMS Global Teacher Prize Miss Hanan Al Hroub.
The children arrived early morning at 7.30am. After checking through security and enjoying some refreshments, at 7.55am they then lined up on balcony to have a countdown whilst Miss Hannan opened the trading the day, addressed by the chief of stock exchange, minister of schools and by Miss Hannan. After a lovely breakfast, the children then had the opportunity to converse with all the VIPS with great confidence.
A quote from Mr Brennan, “I was very proud of our boys and girls who showed great maturity, politeness and an excellent understanding of the stock market. It was a pleasure to be part of this event.”
